Oh Ya !
This was my 1st PnF show..
The 'Rider' was really rippin' good too...
Great to see so many out there dancin' their happy feat dance like Snoopy to Schroeder.
Unfortunately this recording didn't do the best job of capturing what was an awesome sound on this night.
This sounds a bit muffled and flat...
Like they had a sock over the sock on the mic.
And the guitar solo during 'Rider' was so grinding good.
Frankly ?, from 'Eleven' thru 'Mags' was the best sounding 1hr. set of music that I've heard since Alpine...
Sorry Bobby,
I've been to 5 Ratdog shows, and had lots of fun enjoying you, and your bands effort at each of those, without a doubt.
But this 1hr, on this one night, made me pretty much realize that Ratdog, as good as they are, are no PnF...
Phil showed obviously that he is still having fun.
Bobby makes it seem like some kind of olbigational responsibility that he tires of.
I mean one Ratdog show out of 5 where you authentically seemed to have been enjoying yourself.
Again Bobby,
You always sound good, and you make the shows worthwhile...
I just wished you actually enjoyed it more.
At least we know you're not faking happy fun.

Phil Lesh and Friends Live at Summerfest on 2008-07-04
While I haven't had time to listen to this whole show as posted here I was at this show and it was a grate jammin' party. There were a lot of families there taking their kids to their first P&F show as well as lots of youngsters there on their own. Everyone around me was having a real good time!
What I've listened to so far of this recording is very clear and well captured. I would highly recommend this to anyone who's curious about P&F or their current line up. And look at the setlist for the show! While it may not be a live staging of a GD lp like earlier this year there are some great, rare tunes played extremely well.
At times Jackie Green's vocals are a tad low in the mix, but that's not the tapers fault as it was the same live. Give it a listen by either streaming it or better yet grab a couple of the flac files and load 'em up in foobar2000 [or your lossless player of choice] and crank 'em up load and decide for yourself.
Thanks to the tapers and especially the one whose efforts have made it here to the LMA! Didn't let me down!

Meh
Finally listened to the legendary "Phil Lesh"... the reaction? Meh. The music was okay, there were some 'jams'. I respect his history and musical influence, but the band was just not too groovy and I stopped listening about halfway through the show.

Outstanding Show
What a great way to spend independence day! I had my misgivings about seeing Phil at Summerfest figured it ould be more about boozing than the music. Boy was I wrong. The place was filled with heads and everybody seemed to have a great time.

4th of July well spent
$15 got a nice Lotus set to start up a huge Phil and Friends show. I love Steve Molitz on the keys and the jam after St. Steve is a clear demonstration of his contribution. Just happened to be in Milwaukee and ended up extremely satisfied with my Independence Day.

tiny bit of editing required
Just a heads-up. The tracks aren't listed correctly on this page. Everything needs to be bumped up a spot and an "intro" added at the top of the track listing, above Shakedown Street.
